Lovely Vintage Italian Hallmarked Silver 9" Oil & Vinegar Cruet Set, 2 Decanters
Lovely vintage Italian hallmarked 800 (nearly sterling) silver 9" oil & vinegar cruet set or stand, lion's paw accenting with original oval lobed decanters and all in fabulous condition! I've tried to photograph the hallmarks as well as possible but the 'lozenge' shaped one is just too tiny and illegible. It appears to be the shape consistent with Italian hallmarks, the "800" along with the six sided mark were used anywhere from 1934-1968. No silversmith marks, unless they're contained within the one that is illegible. In any event, the piece is wonderful. Scrolled feet on the attached bottom tray, lion's paws holding the oval fittings that secure the decanters and both decanters are original and in superb shape! Yes, it's in .800 silver which is 80% pure and just under the .925 (92.5% pure) standard for sterling silver but the content was quite common with continental silver pieces. Added strength and durability comes from the slightly lower silver content, too. An elegant serving piece that you'll simply love to use, enjoy & impress with.
Very good condition. There are a few small spots of tarnish visible in the images, sorry :). No bends, damage or repairs to the silver stand, no chips, cracks or damage to either decanter. Overall, this one is in fabulous, very usable condition! See pictures for all weights and measurements.

Insurance has been eliminated as an option by ebay, forcing us sellers to either ship your items without insurance or assume that expense also. Our shipping days are Tuesday and Friday, paid items will be shipped on the first shipping day after payment is recieved (except when special circumstances exist). We prefer to use USPS whenever possible, and require all packages to be insured. If you prefer another method of shipment, please mention it. We charge only actual expense of shipment/insurance, except in the case of larger items which must have special wood crates built. Wood crate charge, when applicable, is a flat $35.00 in addition to actual postage & insurance charges.
