Russia: 1987 Battle of Borodino Souv. Sheet (#5597)
A souvenir sheet issued to mark the Battle of Borodino, was a major engagement in the Napoleonic Wars during the French invasion of Russia in 1812. The fighting involved around 250,000 troops and produced at least 70,000 casualties, making Borodino the single deadliest day of the Napoleonic Wars.
