Sourced from a respected seller at the Tucson Gem Show, this superior quality Libyan Tektite is glowing with higher energies!
Said to have formed 28 million years ago, when a very large stellar object (meteorite or comet) exploded, just prior to impact with the desert in southern Libya. 
This huge event created a gigantic fireball, melting the sand below, and whose up-draught sucked up the molten desert dozens of kilometers into the atmosphere 
and then rained back down over a "strew field" of many hectares. 

Such joining of heaven & earth energies created a material that has been revered since ancient times!
The early Egyptians used it to carve many sacred tools and objects - Tutankhamun's mummy has a large Tektite scarab on the breastplate.

A similar "story" to Moldovite, but I have always found Libyan to "feel" much more gentle & grounded (maybe it's an age thing! ; )

It's been a favorite of mine for many years, and i have always hunted out the best in Tucson. Although i love the golden "glow", and it's frequent chatoyancy, my real preference is for the darker material, which I Am certain contains physical traces of the "space visitor" .

This piece is an excellent example of the banding/bonding of the two!
