Cherpion & Schneider

A wonderful french art deco lamp in nickel plated solid brass or bronze, around 1925-1930. The base is by Cherpion a manufacturer of lighting during the interbellum based in Laxou Nancy. A company that best can be compared to for instance le fer forgĂ© HF in Lyon or the blacksmith M.Vasseur in Paris: large firms with a huge output not always of high quality. But we can be selective and go for the best, unrestored pieces of these companies show up for sale on a daily basis, only almost nobody has the knowledge to identify them. Most of the iron and bronze fixtures of Cherpion are unsigned. Some iron lampbases and chandelier mountings are marked Cherpion Nancy. Some bronze pieces like the lamp on offer are marked CN. The lamp holds a nice and and heavy shade in moulded-pressed glass signed Schneider France 402. The height of the lamp is 28,2 cm (11-7/64"). It is in excellent condition. The base has been renickeled and the lamp is rewired with new twisted rayon covered cord, new plug and switch. It is equiped with a stylish metal and porcelain european E14 socket. If you prefer I can place an old B22 bayonet cap socket. For the US Canada and Japan I can place a US candelabra base socket and 2-prong plug. I can wire for Australia as well.

Free  shipping offered to most european countries - insured priority mail. Payment by bank transfer or paypal.
