Description

RB Collection offers this fantastic 1931 Ford Model A Stake Bed utility truck. This awesome little truck was reported to have been owned by actor Lorne Greene of Bonanza fame and used at his California ranch. It is believed to have been purchased from his estate by a prior owner. The utility body and accessories are original to truck and very rare. Details include the original semaphore which extends from the driver's side, warning oncoming drivers. A container of flares is fitted to the right side, and it wears the original Ford branded tool box and brass padlock. The flat bed features removable stake bed sides and an original crane for hoisting heavy cargo. Beyond the interesting and rare original equipment, Ford retains its original Henry Ford steel and rests on a high quality Morfab chassis with four-link rear and solid axle, drop spindle front suspension. Disc brakes are fitted up front, and the truck rides with an aggressive rake on Wheelsmith 15" and 16" wheels wrapped with Diamondback wide-white radials. Power comes courtesy of a GM "Fast Burn" 350 (5.7 liter) smallblock. The engine has been further enhanced with a more aggressive (but still streetable) cam, and a top quality QuickFuel carburetor. This truck now puts out approximately 425 horsepower making for a thrilling drive. When you're ready to relax and cruise, the 700R4 transmission allows for easy overdrive highway driving. Power brakes and air conditioning keep things comfortable and easy to drive.

The paintwork on the all-steel body is exquisite and has been meticulously maintained by the careful, collector owner. The single-stage black paint has hundreds of hours in hand finishing to ensure crisp, clean reflections. Traditional hand striping can be found just about everywhere you look - from the dash to the rear axle. The wood bed has been beautifully restored and the signs (courtesy of the owner's working farm) are traditionally painted and finished with real gold leaf. Everywhere you look on this truck you find wonderful details and exquisite workmanship. This truck was built to a very high standard at a cost of over $100,000. It is a very rare and unusual body, and a truly individual hot rod.
