Waterman 18 New York. HR Mottled. Oversize Eye Dropper Fountain Pen 1910s. 14K F FULL Flex Nib. ULTRA RARE
Made in New York, USA 1900-1918. These wonderful rare number 18 models are the father of the 58. They are Large Oversize pens with the HUGE size 8 Nibs. This example is in fabulous condition with fantastic colour, gloss and sheen. Very rare to find so clean. It is made from mixed Red and Black hard Rubber to form a wood effect known as Mottled or Ripple. Every pen has unique pattern. This pen is simply stunning to look at. Like the finest Bur Walnut.
The pen has no Cracks, Splits or Repairs etc. Ultra rare to find with zero cracks. The Waterman NY Patent dated Barrel imprints are clear and easy to read. Has 18 Stamped on the tail end. The extra long original feed is superb. The 14K F full flex Nib is also perfect with zero damage or repairs. Original Iridium tips are good to last several more lifetimes.
The pen is an Eye Dropper fill (Pre Lever fill). To fill with bottled ink could not be easier. Simply unscrew off the front section (part you hold when writing) from barrel. Now take an eye dropper or Pipette full of ink and squirt it directly inside the Barrel (Pens body) until 80-90percent full. Hold upright throughout. Now simply screw back on the front section. Done. Takes 5 seconds and last forever it seems. These hold an enormous amount of ink so only need filling rarely. Perfect if your about to write a novel by hand:) Wonderful rare pens. Works and Writes perfect. Fully serviced and cleaned.
