Description: For sale is an original pair of early 20th century oil paintings on canvas depicting scenes near Near Watton, Norfolk and Near Epping, Essex, painted by the British painter Francis E Jamieson (1895-1950). These are traditional English School oil paintings. The scene near Near Watton, Norfolk shows a sunset landscape with a river, and has a figure by a boat and farmstead. The other painting shows a scene Near Epping, Essex, it has a farmstead with chickens near a small pond, and a figure approaching on the country road. Both paintings are signed "S. Penn" for Stanley Penn, one of around a dozen pseudonyms or aliases used by the prolific Jamieson. The titles are inscribed on the canvases verso. Both paintings are housed in matching modern gilt frames.
