CANDLE TOPS & LIONS FEET
A beautiful vintage pair of lamps.
Shapely candle design with hand made cardboard candle covers - candle wax drip design.
3 chunky feet - lions paw or dragons feet.
Made of wood with a gesso & gilt gold finish.
I would think these where once candle holders & have been adapted later on.
The electrics are fairly modern.
They are designed to just take a candle flame bulb - large screw in type.
All working well.
So, to round up - this is a fantastic pair of lamps with a stunning shape!
Overall measurements are:-
The lamps ares 27.75" high
The bottom is 7" across
Tops are 1.75" across
Overall condition:-
Condition is good vintage.
Some lovely age marks to the gilt finish.
Marks & bumps.
One foot has a nail missing & the one chipped - this could be hidden when in use with this foot/paw to the back.
We have clamped & wood glued one of the feet as it has a split in the base - now holding strong.
So, to round up, an amazing pair of huge lamps with ageing.
