A antique 1882 patent Willcox & Gibbs sewing machine, with a Serial number of A582788. It is in full working order and has a leather belt drive. It comes with a two operating instruction and maintenance books and a Willcox and Gibbs tin box, which contains a whole range of tools, four packets and a box of different sized needles etc - see photo's. It also has its original box which has the key. It dates to last quarter of 19th century and has been used, its wooden base has a crack which is solid and stable and the handle on the wheel has a crack. It is full working condition, with all moving parts operating smoothly. The base measures 12 3/4" or 32.5 cm long x 8 3/4" or 223 mm wide.
