vehicle description
Seven Hills Motorcars is
proud to offer this
triple black 1964 Corvette Convertible in great driver condition with a
4-Speed manual transmission that is ready to be enjoyed. This Corvette looks good,
runs well, and drives great. We feel as if our asking price for this
Corvette is very reasonable and that the car is definitely priced to
sell. It is difficult to find any "Mid Year" or C2 Corvette for
anything under $40,000, let alone one that runs and drives as well
as this car. We believe that this was an original L76 327ci 365hp
model Corvette. It looks good, has a clean interior, and is totally
solid.
Please peruse all
of the photos, video, and other information below
to get a true sense of how nice this Corvette really is.
I have personally put about 50 miles on this Sting Ray and
during that time is was completely reliable with no issues
and a pleasure to drive.
There is a ton of paperwork and documentation that goes with
the car. There are copies of previous titles and ownership
history back to the late 1970's. There are also over many
receipts for service, maintenance, and parts for the car
over the years. Included with the paperwork is a receipt for
the engine rebuild. This Corvette is well tuned and runs
very strong with a lot of power and a great sound. There are
some signs that this is an original L76
365hp Corvette such as the 6500 redline tachometer. While
this car is not completely numbers matching it does have a
3858174 engine block, which is a casting number that was
used on C2 Corvettes and
3890490 aluminum intake manifold, which is for a
1966 L79 350hp Corvette.
As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle.
We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our
Corvettes come from owners who expect their car to go to someone
that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did.
We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the
car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each
picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so
you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a
question about the Corvette, just give us a call.
condition
Exterior
The black exterior is in
decent driver condition. This Sting Ray has a mean and very cool
all blacked-out look with black paint, black interior, black
top, and black-wall tires. As one can see in the photos, the
finish has fine gloss and deep shine. The car basically looks in
person as it does in the photos. The chrome and other bright
work shows well overall. The wheels are in good condition with a great finish and
the tires look to be almost new. There are no major
imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the
photos. The paintjob does have some age and blemishes, which is
evident in the photos. I have done my best to accurately and
objectively photograph the car and show the flaws, but some are
too small or cannot be picked up by the camera. One should
really view the car in person to get the best and most accurate
idea of what the car really looks like. For the most part
however, the car looks in person as it does in the photos. The
top itself fits ok and operates well, but there is some separation between the
rear window and top.
The clam shell is still on the car and it comes with the spare
and jack. The bottom of the car looks great and is very clean.
This Corvette has no rust issues. We
have included many photos of the underside of the car to show
how nice it looks and specific photos of the sports most prone
to such such as the "Key Hole" area on the frame.
Interior
The
Black interior of the Corvette is in fine condition. The
seats look in person just as they do in the
photos with some light average wear for their age. The
carpet is in great condition with no stains or holes. This includes the rear carpet, which is
often neglected. The gauge faces are
clean and crisp and the lenses are clear. The dash is in great shape with no cracks,
fading, or sun damage. The door panels look good. The radio
is original to the car, but does not work. This Corvette has
never been smoked in; there are no burn marks and no
aroma of cigarettes.
Mechanical
This Corvette seems to be in
very good mechanical condition. The engine was rebuilt and it runs absolutely awesome. It
starts right away every time and idles well. The car is a great
driver that feels nice the road and at highway speeds. The
mechanics and the way this Corvette runs and drives are some of
its strongest points.
In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the
highway up to about 60mph, shifting through all the gears,
braking to stoplight, and going through some curves. Please note
that there are no strange noises or vibrations and the
car performs quite well overall. There is no blue smoke when
starting or driving. The car runs cool and does not
overheat. The transmission shifts well and the clutch feels good.
It will occasionally pop out of second gear, but as one can see
in the video it almost always shifts fine. The brakes are
responsive. This Corvette has plenty of power and is
very fast. Also, the engine compartment is clean and nicely detailed as one can see in the photos.
All of the gauges work and even the clock keeps good
time. The horn works as do all the exterior lights,
indicators, and parking brake. The blower motor for the
heater works on all speeds. Also, the vent selector
works properly and blows air from defroster and heater
vents correctly. Both headlights
go up and down properly and with no binding the
mechanism, which is a very common problem on this era
Corvette. Their complete operation can be viewed in the
video below. Not enough can be said as to how
much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially with
4-Speed and the
top down out on a beautiful day.
Overall Condition
Overall, this 1964 Corvette is in
wonderful driver condition. Mid-year (C2) Corvettes are,
and will continue to be, the most collectable and
desirable Corvette generation. The value of these cars
has gone up exponentially in recent years. They are all
solid investments for a collector. While this is not a
Bloomington Gold or NCRS Top Flight restoration, it is a
very nice driver. This Corvette always gets a ton of
attention driving down the road. The value of these cars has gone
up exponentially in recent years. They are all solid
investments for a collector. One could easily enjoy
this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than
the purchase price with minimal effort.
Thank you for looking and please do not
hesitate to email or call with any questions.
