This is an original, official Microsoft XBox 360 controller. It was originally white, but there was damage to the shell, mostly minor scratches all over, but the lip on the back where the batteries lock in was cracked. This meant the batteries could come loose and disconnected while playing, particularly if you're using rechargeables. Instead of trying the plastic weld them back together, I replaced the shells entirely. I chose the translucent ones mostly because they were the most cost-effective option, but also to let you see that there's a genuine Microsoft circuit board inside (none of the controllers for sale from this listing are actually missing the metal cover over that blue and gold chip, it was just convenient for the photo). The only other original parts carried over are the rumble motors and the face buttons (the replacements look cheaper and the originals don't show much wear, beyond the metal on the home button). The only issue with the replacement shells is the connect button either isn't flexible enough or just doesn't fit right, so I left it out and you just have to carefully stick a pencil into the hole to push that button. which you really shouldn't have to do all that often. I can include the rest of the original shell parts if you want, but again I should note they show a lot of visible wear.
I have tested the controller on a computer with the 360 Wireless Receiver, using both AA and rechargeable power (the clear AA battery cover is included, but no batteries), and the controls, lights and rumble all work.
