It belongs to our family for many years, we don't recall the provenance and probably came from a local Chicago estate sale.
Oil on canvas signed on the lower left Gregoire.

I'm not an expert in regard to, nor I have the tools to research a signature's authenticity. Therefor I'm not guaranteeing this a Gregoire Boonzaier (1909 -2005). I'm leaving this up to buyer, asking to inspect carefully all photos.

A very similar canvas with exact South African cottages landscape sold on Ebay in June 2016 for $1.500, by a professional Ebay auctioneer intermediary. Seller's estimate between $3.000 - $5.000.

Beautiful thick brush strokes palette knife. The canvas has two small paint loss as shown in close up pics 8 and 9. The canvas has a couple of smaller fleabite size paint loss. The painting has many small tiny pits over the entire painting. These are clearly visible in the "sky" as shown in close up pics 10 and 11, but are not so noticeable on the landscape. In my opinion the canvas could be easily cleaned, pits could be removed by a professional, but again I'm not an expert so I can't guarantee. A sturdy 1950's wooden frame reads on the back " Made in Mexico". Wooden canvas frame, the one used by the artist has the embossed logo and world "Anco Bilt".

Frame is about 33" X 28"
Canvas is about 20" x 24"

International Buyer: we might reserve the right to send it without frame if too big for post office measurements standards. If shipping quote is not shown on your screen, it probably means that it's too big. In this case I'm estimating about 100$ fees for international shipping without the outer frame and insurance.

Thanks and have a wonderful day!
