Vintage cutlery faux bone handle side/ tea knives x6 stainless blade Eye Witness

Please note these are faux bone - an imitation of Ivory made in Ivorine
Welcome

You will be buying a  set of 6 stainless steel bladed Fruit Side  or Tea knives or sometimes simply called side knives .

Usually marketed as tea knives. They are a set of six by Sheffield Cutlers Taylors under the Trademark Eye Witness and are marked Stainless  Sheffield as well.

The handles are a composite faux bone .

Good solid handles with a lovely grain.

The  bolster is the mean - that is shaped to the handle.

The blades have a sabre style blade - that is with a gentle curve to each blade.

Measuring a very presentable 17.5 cms - a very delicate and dainty knife.

They  show well - very well in the photographs - please check because that is part of the description but please be aware that the blades are in very good condition and marks in the photographs are reflections.

They are sure to add a touch of splendour to the dining room or to complete that collection .

Thank you for stopping by and if you have the time please read my 'small print' below

Payment will be by Paypal as the preferred method of payment. In the UK a personal cheque is also accepeted as well as Postal Order even though cheques have become so rare. If an International buyer wishes to use a method other than Paypal it will be necessary to email before bidding. However please note that I can only ever accept cheques (checks) drawn in £GB STERLING

Please note that International winning bidders should not pay until they receive an e-mail from me if the winning bid is greater than £41.00 GBP .
I would like payment to be made within 4 days of the completion of the auction although imedeiately if Buy It Now. If a problem please make contact. If no payment has been made within seven days then I will start the Ebay dispute process (mainly because I would be losing the chance to offer the item as a second chance to an alternate bidder). There will always be the opportunity for local bidders to collect in person. Any query at all please do not hesitate to email.

I will always ship as soon as possible after cleared payment. This will usually mean next day. My shipping charge includes signed for postage in the UK(Or parcel Force/My Hermes for larger items)(Shipping charges also include a small extra towards packing and getting to the Post Office - which we do not have in our village.) The signed for mail is to enable tracking for your security. (Paypal/EBay insurance does not work with proof of posting - only with an item that is tracked). Uk postal services cover items up to a cost of £41 but over this there is no liability. For international sales that now exceed the £41.00 mark I will need to add signed for postage. This will mean an increase in postal charges of £5. Please wait for my e-mail before paying.

I will ensure that all items leave me carefully packed in the hope that they will reach you in the same manner they left me. I will always combine multiple items for reduced shipping. Again any query please do not hesitate to email. International buyers please note that the advertised times given by Royal Mail are very optimistic. Shipping of 3-5 days is more realistic at 5-14 days. Finally [if you have got this far!] Ebay now take 10% of the money you pay for postage. I do not pass this [ or any other surcharge or fee from Ebay ]on and so probably post at a loss - especially if combining items...please bear this in mind
when marking me for postage costs.

Sale terms are covered under payment. I will refund if you find a mistake has been made in the description of an item and that will include postage. I cannot refund postage for those just suffering remorse. I will always endeavour to find a solution to any problem that may occur so please do not hesitate to email if you think there may be a problem. Its always great to talk.

Once again thank you for stopping by.

I am retired. I live just outside Lincoln. I now have time to indulge my hobby and I attend a number of auctions in the County a month. The items that I offer on eBay are often the results of visits to these auctions. This means that there can be quite an eclectic feel to my offerings. My particular interest is cutlery and I spend many an hour cleaning silver and silver plate and occasionally brass to bring back an items former glory. I also like to research the origin of items I buy and have built up quite a knowledge base over the years. I am more than pleased to share any of this information. I am not a dealer as such [although Ebay themselves would disagree], just getting pleasure from doing what I enjoy.

All contact is with the eBay message system but I can be contacted at steve@sandsfirst.co.uk. I will reply as soon as possible and certainly within twenty four hours. If you have a question about an item please do not leave it until the last minute to ask.
