Is it as good as a traditional Heart Rate watch?
The data obtained from the H7 sensor with an app like Polar Beat is amazing. Detailed time versus HR graphs, speed & distance from your phones GPS and even bar graphs of time spent in 5 x Polar Sports Zones. Even works when Swimming
The H7's dual transmission chips mean that when swimming the sensor transmits your heart rate to any compatible devices like the Polar FT1, FT4, FT7, V800 or A300 etc. This is great for people who want HR in the pool on their older Polar sports watch, but want to track HR in their smartphone when out running, cycling, gym etc. The H7 covers both requirements. This analogue signal is also used to pair with Gym Link compatible training equipment.
Perfect for HRV (RR interval) Testing
For those already on the road to a fitter self then take your training analysis to the next level with HRV testing. The H7 has been tested by myself on several HRV (heart rate variability) apps like HRV Elite and it's brilliant. Following a 2-3 minute test the HRV app will tell you if you are overtrained, balanced or undertrained. It's a real science that has been made simple to understand. Anyone who partakes in more than 6 hours of training per week should consider HRV testing....

SIZING. The straps for sale here are the SAME AS ORIGINALLY supplied. That is M-XXL. From our experience these will fit any chest size from 30" to 42". If you require a smaller or larger strap, please let us know and we can arrange a special order for the same price

Please read my detailed and impartial review of the Polar H7. It's a brilliant bit of kit that can simply and cost effectively add heart rate training to your iPhone / Android device. Personally, I'd recommend the Polar Beat APP, but it will also work with dozens of other apps like MapMyRide, Strava, Endomondo , CardioMapper, Runtastic and Wahoo Fitness.
