Shipwreck Artifact Red Black and White Wool Blanket from the Cargo Ship Carita
one of the Gorthon Line ships out of Helsingborg  Sweden
found on Money Point Nova Scotia Canada
December 20, 1975

A relative found this wool blanket along the coast of Nova Scotia at Money Point where the Swedish cargo ship Carita from the Gorthon Lines out of Helsingborg Sweden ran aground in 1975.  The ship was aground, the crew had deserted, and items from the ship were awash on the shore.

Wool blanket is Red, Black, and White.........has Gorthon Lines and Helsingborg woven into the fabric
Measures 56" x 72"
It is in very good condition considering its provenance.  The fringe along the long edges is growing as some of the woven threads come loose and there is at least on hole about 1" x 1/2".  I did not see any other holes or damage.
