The top plate is precision set up and jigged , just send in your existing top plate to restore the plate or drop off/send in your turntable by arrangement.The spindle bearing is re set true to the tonearm mounting for the correct cartridge alignment if you leave the bearing in situ.
The fixed price of £138 includes re delivery of the top plate to the UK mainland, precision jigging, re setting, isolation gasket installation and final bearing alignment. A fixed price will always be given for any further work you wish to have undertaken on your turntable. It is well worth restoring your Xerxes and our work is warranted.
If you do send in the bearing assembly please fit the original cap and ensure the thrust ball bearing is fitted.
The top plate process takes ten days to correct and is then upgraded with an isolation gasket which prevents any excessive movement and need for bearing shimming, without any detriment to performance. Bearing shimming is only a temporary and part solution to the sagging plate, so if fitted these can be removed if the bearing bolts have not been over tightened in the past and indented the bearing top flange into the timber face.
Note, personal delivery/collection is welcome by arrangement and a full service and restoration is available if you are not conversant with undertaking/setting your own turntable up.
Your turntable will require the suspension setting up, some fine platter alignment and testing the earthing when refitting your tonearm on re delivery.
