Merida Ride 7000 is a high performance carbon road bike with disc brake Mounts. Disc brakes are viewed by many as the future in road bikes, offering significant improvements in braking versus traditional rim brakes. Improvements in technology have seen disc brake weights decrease, which has previously been viewed as the barrier to offering them on road bikes.
Merida's 'Ride' frame platform features a higher front end gives a more relaxed, upright riding position than most road bike frames, improving comfort, and letting you spend more time on the bike. The carbon frame represents a significant performance improvement from alloy, with lower weight, and higher stiffness values that alloy frames. This means that more of the force placed into each pedal stroke is transferred into speed across road (rather than being lost in flexing of the frame), creating better acceleration and efficiency of pedalling.
