Up for auction is this vintage women's Schwinn World Sport 14 speed road / race bike. It is a beautiful bike that is in unusually good condition for its age. The paint is glossy and in good condition, the aluminum/chrome surfaces are corrosion free and bright, and the original decals are excellent. Mechanically everything works properly and it is ready to be ridden.
This particular model of World Sport was fantastic as it saw several improvements over earlier models. A fully lugged frame constructed of True Temper double-butted chromoly offered high strength, light weight, and great ride quality. Aluminum 700 x 28 wheels gave a sleek profile. All Shimano running gear (offering 14 speeds) ensured it had the performance to back up the looks. It measures 21" from the center of the crank to the top of the seat tube so it would be ideal for taller riders. It is a beautiful bike!
