Product Description

Nissin Di622 Mark II Flash: Digital TTL flashgun with not one, not two, but three wireless flash modes, for use with Canon, Nikon and Sony cameras

Mastering light is the quickest way to gaining more professional results from your digital camera. A shortcut to achieving this is to add an accessory flashgun, making it a fantastic investment. The Nissin Di622 Mark II offers quick and easy results for Canon, Nikon and Sony camera owners, with Guide Number: 44m, 145ft. (ISO 100), 62m, 205ft. (ISO 200).

Clip on, switch on, shoot

Clip on, switch on, shoot

The Nissin Di622 Mark II lets even those inexperienced in using accessory flash get professional results almost instantly. It's simply a case of clipping the flashgun on the camera, switching it on and releasing the camera's shutter button, whereupon the flash fires and its light is automatically controlled by the camera and the dedicated flash TTL system.

Great results in a wide variety of shooting scenarios

The less experienced may only imagine flash needs to be used at night or in poor light. But, on the contrary, flash can be very effective when used in broad daylight too. Utilise it to eliminate shade or shadows for example, and use fill-in flash to sharpen the appearance of your subject. Freeze motion or introduce attractive catch lights in the eyes when taking portraits. Create contrast, but moreover enjoy experimenting with flash and check the results instantly on the back of your camera.

Updatable via Firmware

Want a flash that's future proofed? To avoid the possibility of your flash not working when you introduce a new camera to your set up Nissin offers a firmware upgrade service for its Di622 Mark II flashgun, providing a service terminal to upload the latest software*. A charge for the firmware update service will apply, according to area. *The new camera has to be the same make as your previous camera.

TTL flash

The Nissin Di622 Mark II is compatible with Canon's E-TTL, E-TTLII system, Nikon's i-TTL and Sony ADI/P-TTL system. These digital TTL flash systems control the flash's light with greater precision and stability.

Bounce flash, tilit and swivel head

Bounce flash

Thanks to a built-in wide angle diffuser, the Nissin Di622 Mark II can cover a lens focal range from 14mm to 70mm (with a traditional 1.5x multiplication factor). When using longer lenses the position of the flash head reflector stays at 70mm. The head turns 90° upwards and 270° horizontally to enable the light to be bounced for creative effects as desired. To enable fill-in flash, the flash head provides a small reflection panel.

Wireless remote flash

The Nissin Di622 Mark II offers a wireless remote flash system enabling it to be used as a slave unit. Thereby users can enjoy creative flash photography with multiple light from varied directions.

There are three slave modes provided:Slave Digital (SD): The Di622 Mark II synchronizes to the pre-flash system. The master flash needs to be set at TTL (E-TTL for Canon, i-TTL for Nikon and ADI/P-TTL for Sony) mode.Slave Film (SF): The Di622 Mark II synchronizes with the traditional single flash system. The master flash needs to be set at manual mode. Studio lighting system synchronizes to this mode. This mode is also available for open flash, and for any standard flash on the market.Wireless TTL: The Di622 Mark II synchronizes as a receiver flash to the wireless remote flash system. The master flash is to be set at Channel 1 group A in wireless remote mode.TTL flash level compensation

The power of the flash can be controlled with TTL flash level compensation. Whereas the overall exposure is controlled by the camera's EV compensation function, the flash can compensate for the exposure of the main subject only, so that in other words it has little impact on the background. The flash power level can be adjusted from -1.5EV through +1.5EV by 0.5EV steps.

Nissin original 'My TTL' setting

The TTL flash power is pre-set in the factory. Users can however tweak this to their heart's desire, using exposure levels from +/- 0.75 EV in 0.25 EV increments, and set this as their own personal standard.

X-Contact and External Synchro Contact

Although the Nissin Di622 Mark II can be used in conjunction with your camera's hotshoe, it can also be used without it. For example some cameras provide an X-terminal flash synchronisation contact instead of a hotshoe. Thus this Nissin additionally provides an X-terminal socket.

High power in your hands, on your camera

A Guide number of 44 (ISO 100) is obtained at the reflector position for 105mm focal length lens, and 45 at 35mm.

Power Zoom

The angle of light distribution is automatically adjusted according to the lens' focal length. Thanks to a high quality stepping motor the lens movement is traced accurately at the same speed as that of the camera manufacturer's own flash.

Energy Saving System

The Nissin Di622 Mark II has a dual energy saving system that enters sleep mode if not used for five minutes. This is reset with a touch of the shutter button or any button on the flash unit. The unit will also automatically power down if unused for 30 minutes. However when the flash is set to slave mode, this 'sleep' mode is cancelled and the unit will not automatically turn itself off until 60 minutes have elapsed.

Six selectable power settings

Variable power

The Nissin Di622 Mark II offers six selectable power settings, ranging from full power at Guide Number 44 down to 1/32 power in 1.0 EV increments.

AF assist beam

In darkness or low light the Nissin Di622 Mark II emits a red light to enable the camera's focus sensor to more easily and accurately determine focus on the subject.

Flash power lock system

The Nissin Di622 Mark II is compatible with either Canon's FE lock or Nikon's FV lock system. Refer to your owner's manual for details.

Rear curtain synchro

Where rear curtain synchonisation is offered by Canon and Nikon models the Nissin Di622 Mark II follows the lead of the camera's command signal.

Red eye reduction

A feature enabled in conjunction with Nikon cameras only, whereby a small flash beam is automatically produced for close up portrait shots, to prevent the 'devil eyed' phenomenon.

The flash comes with a case and a flash stand which is ideal for using the flash off camera.
