Why did I buy this accursed book? I've asked myself that question every day since returning from that evil old house deep into the Ozark back country...

This leather-bound copy of the "Ars Notoria" or "Notary Art of Solomon" was one of many "quaint and curious" objects available at this particular estate auction. The widow of the previous owner stopped me as I was leaving and implored upon me, "Burn it, for I could not summon the strength myself! BURN IT!"

I'm a natural skeptic but have a wide ranging curiosity when it comes to such things. While I was not rude that day, I did dismiss her with an off the cuff remark. She did not respond well and the look in her eye bored deep into my soul. Chills ran down my spine!

"Forbidden" knowledge, however, is irresistible. I simply could not wait to examine the infamous tome, published in 1997 by Trident Press. Dare I hope that it's esoteric wisdom could further my worldly goals? After all it is the oldest known (thus most authentic?) portion of the dreaded Lemegeton.

The fact that it's a rare first edition (numbered #157 out of 500) tells me that few have had access to the dark secrets within! The marbled end-papers and letterpress quality printing on heavy premium quality paper stock clearly indicate that this volume was not created merely for show. It was constructed to endure through the ages and to witness otherworldly terrors far into the future!

I dare not speculate what occult activities this grimoire would have been exposed to were it not for the fine black slipcase protecting it's luxurious leather binding, gilt titling, and three raised leather bands.

Many sleepless nights followed my purchase that day. As fatigue set hold, the nightmares began! I will not attempt to describe the darkness that I fear will follow me forever.

I have never even opened this book all the way. It's binding is still very tight! The book will not let me destroy it, but it will let me sell it on eBay. Perhaps allowing itself to travel among the hapless fulfills its diabolical purpose!
