DescriptionA fine Large size original WW 1 Period hallmarked sterling silver Gentleman's [ OFFICERS ] curved cigarette case , This superb piece was made by J.R = John Rose of Birmingham, The inside face has full UK hallmarks for J.R. Birmingham. Sterling .date letter q = 1916. A good large size it measure's 13 cm wide x 8.5 cm approx, weight approx 161 gr, the inner straps in place ,the catch working fine all original .A very nice unusual collectable Cigarette case It may well have been used by a officer in the First World war , ideal to fit in a jacket or trouser pocket it curved design and finish superb. it has a monogram for its original owner over 100 years ago, some marks on the silver face from use which just flow into the curved silver face, all in keeping with its age, a really nice weighty cigarette case that feels great in the hand .
