For sale is a Vintage 13 Piece Japanese Moriage Dragon Ware tea set.  It includes six cups and saucers, there is no tea pot.  The bottom of the cups when held to the light reveal a Geisha Lithopane.  The cups and sugar and creamer (except the lid) feature a hand painted moriage dragon in gold and silver.  The pieces have a beautiful sea green base, it looks like it was painted to depict the dragon coming out of the ocean. The set probably dates to the 1950's.  Condition is excellent and appears to have never been used. There are a few tiny areas of missing moriage, and the gold on the dragons is lightly cracked.  There are a few tiny places where the paint is missing, it appears to be manufacturing flaws, not damage. There are no chips, cracks, breaks, crazing or repairs.  The gold is all intact.  Each of the 6 cups measures 2-1/4 inches high and 2-5/8 inches across, including the handles.  The saucers measure 4-1/2 inches across. The sugar bowl is 4-1/8 inches high with the lid and 5 1/4 inches across including the handles.  The creamer measures 3-1/8 inches high to the top of the spout and is 3-5/8 inches wide including the handles.  The sugar bowl has a tea pot lid (there is the vent hole in it).  The sugar and creamer are marked "Hand Painted KUTANI".  No marks on the cups or saucers.   From a pet free, smoke free home.  At this time we only ship within the US.  Please feel free to e-mail with any questions.
