Antique Magic lantern in fantastic original condition which I believe was made around 1890 - 1900.
Quite an interesting design as it comes in 2 pieces and fits into a smaller box.

Assembly:
The lens assemble slides out of the back piece and is placed onto the brass front lens and rests on two pins, and held in place by a sprung clip underneath. This enables the lantern to fit into a much smaller tin box for transportation.

All original and mostly in fantastic original condition.
A couple of minor surface rust marks to rear part.
Front brass section in good condition.
Lens good - no chips.
Rack and pinion adjustment in good condition. Gearing smooth
A few scuff marks to front lens protector.
Originally it would of had a light source in the rear which is now missing. It does still have the assemble which held it (see photos).
There possibly should be a chimney, although this design may not of had one as its been designed to fit into a smaller box.

Original Tin carry case has surface rust. Leather handle in good condition but should not be used!
