U.S.S. Prometheus Development Booklet & Blueprint Reproduction

Collection of Rick Sternbach

This is a copy of a 21 page 11”x17” booklet covering the development of the U.S.S. Prometheus, a very special Starfleet vessel with the capability to split into three autonomous sections. The ship, first seen in the episode “Message in a Bottle,” went toe-to-toe with Romulan forces using the highly secret Multi-Vector Attack Mode, requiring the CG model to be designed with some complicated hardware details. Latches, turbolift connectors, power conduits, and much more were built into the interfaces between the forward hull and the Upper Warp Hull and Lower Warp Hull. Small warp sustainer pods deployed from the forward hull. All of these designs can be seen in the booklet. A blackline reproduction of the blueprint originally drawn up to build the computer graphic (CG) polygon model of the Prometheus is included; it is a partial drawing but provided enough information to build the basic hull in the computer, with details provided by the perspective sketches. Blueprint is 24”x36”. The booklet and blueprint are signed and rolled in a tube for shipping. Collection of Star Trek Voyager Senior Illustrator and Prometheus designer Rick Sternbach.
