Many Blue Ox® Baseplates are designed to use existing holes and hardware to mount the baseplate to the towed vehicle. Even though bolts are there, do not assume they are adequate for baseplate mounting. Always use hardware supplied in the hardware kit or existing hardware specified in the Baseplate Towing Installation Instructions. Please note that baseplate height measurements are approximate and may vary slightly depending on the size and type of tire installed on the vehicle.

Absorbs the forces of towing rather than rigidly transferring the forces to the frame of the vehicle. Plates bolt securely to the chassis and spreads towing force equally without undue stress. Keeps the weight placed on your suspension to a minimum and looks great!
Some baseplate applications have removable tabs that further enhance the aesthetics. When not towing, just remove the tabs to make your baseplate virtually invisible to the casual observer. When you're ready to tow, the tabs are easily locked into place.
