The Crystal Beach amusement park opened in 1888. In the park’s heyday in the 1920s and 1930s, it was particularly famous for its rollercoaster the Crystal Beach Cyclone. The Canadiana, last passenger vessel built in Buffalo, served Crystal Beach until 1956. After subsequently passing through numerous owners, Canadiana sank at her berth in 1982. Despite plans to save her, she was scrapped in 2004.
