Markings on Blades:

Mre d'Armes de St. Etienne Luis 1887. There are additional engravings which I cannot read, sorry.

Handle: Wood, I believe Condition: There are scratches due to normal wear. "AL" is carved on the handle.

Scabbard: This number is engraved on the scabbard as well as the sword: 37236. Scabbard Condition: The scabbard as pitting and possibly rust spotting. I have not attempted to clean.

Blade: I am not certain of the materials. Condition: The blade has patina, pitting and possibly some rust. I have not attempted to clean.

My research says that this sword was manufactured for the French Navy (Marines.)

Comment: My husband was a collector of pocket knives and military items. Since his passing I have been attempting to catalog and sell his personal collection.
