Rio #33 Mercedes Limousine 70 C.V. 1908 1/43.

Rio started as a sideline business interest to a diecasting company in Cernobbio, Italy, operated by the Tattarletti family starting about 1961.  These models were made in Europe (Italy), during the "Golden Era" of die-cast manufacturing, when the best models in the world were made in England, Germany, and Italy, as opposed to today when everything is made in the Orient. RIO models first appear to have been imported into the United States by David Sinclair, a model enthusiast who brought many previously unknown European model brands to the U.S. in the 1960s and 1970s.

This #33 1908 Mercedes Limousine 70 C.V., is typical of RIO models, with many detailed chrome parts. Running board and spoked wheels.

The presentation box is VERY clean, straight edged, with all flaps FACTORY ATTACHED, bright colors with no staining, smudges, smears, or tears.  The box as well as the  acrylic display case has some minute scuffing, but perfectly protects this fabulous model. This is just one of literally HUNDREDS of RIO's I will be listing over the course of the next year, all GORGEOUS AND MINT!

All my models are carefully wrapped and packed to insure they arrive in the correct condition.  Shipping includes Delivery Tracking in the U.S.  Must be shipped priority, which includes insurance. U.S.ONLY.
