Now onto the item for sale.

For sale is an almost complete set of Great Books of the Western World by Encyclopedia Britannica. This is the 22nd printing that was issued in 1978.

As stated above, there are 39 of the 54 volumes included and 19 of the volumes are still sealed in their original shrink wrap. A few books have slightly damaged (a small tear, hole, etc.) shrink wrap, but any that do are still certainly unread and the shrink wrap is still 95+% intact.

These books are all in very nice like new condition. We thumbed through several of the volumes that aren't in shrink wrap and didn't see any writing, creased, pages, or other damage. There are some smudges, or marks on some of the outside covers., but nothing major. Volume 9 is in one of the pictures and has a crease running right down the center of its spine. Outside of that, all of the open volumes are incredibly nice. We assume the sealed volumes are in mint condition of course.

The missing volumes are 4, 5, 6, 28, 30, 33, 34, 35, 38, 40, 41, 44, 46, 47 and 51. Two of the pictures are the list of books that is on the inside cover of each volume and show the names of the books that are missing.

We wish this set was complete, but it's a great opportunity to pick up 72% of the set and you will be hard pressed to find any volumes sealed and ones in such incredible condition.

These books will be shipped in multiple boxes as described below and each box will be insured for peace of mind.

These books will be packed in three separate boxes since they weigh just under 66 1/2 pounds collectively. We've found that double boxing books and shipping them in multiple boxes is a tremendous benefit during shipping. Shipping a single large box that weighs about 70 pounds is almost certain to lead to damage during processing through USPS facilities. These books will be split up and packed into 12" boxes and then 14" boxes and will require three boxes in total with each box weighing about 26 or 27 pounds.
