Dimensions first: length 9.5 inch, width 4 inch, height 2.5 inch.  Weight 1lb.  Origin Japanese. Period Meiji.  It greatly resembles Shakudo pieces - I've seen similar boats, cranes and other decoration on Shakudo items and in mixed metals with gold and silver appearance.  But here is my problem - if this is Shakudo surely its worth a fortune. so I guess its not.  Is it Ikebano? I've seen a couple of Ikebano boats for a couple of thousand pounds each and this  is better than both of them.  Another puzzling aspect is if this was primarily bronze it would weigh more than it does.  So what is it made of?  Which mixed metals?  No doubt some dealer out there knows exactly what it is.  Condition is very good antique, there is wear to the base.
