oldcaraccessories

Probably the largest collection of 30s-70s classic car accessories in the world (10,000 of em!). I am not allowed to link to my site but my eBay ID gives you a BIG clue...

Insured and tracked airmail shipping from ENGLAND or FRANCE (I move regularly between the two but the service is the same from each) to anywhere in the world for $15.00. I mail all my items promptly and transit time is usually 1-2 weeks, but it can take a bit longer if the customs hit it...

A beautiful exhaust deflector that I have always called a lion's paw since my daughter saw one when she was 5 years old and said she thought that was what it looked like.

The hole that fits over the end of your muffler is 1 7/8 inches diameter. Most 30s-50s American car mufflers seem to be about that size, but if you need to DECREASE it from that it would reduce about half an inch as there is an adjustable clamp (see pictures), and you could insert an extra pad between the clamp and exhaust if you have a really small muffler and want to take it down more.

If you need to INCREASE the diameter from that it is quite easy to remove the stock clamp, cut a slit in the bottom, spread the end slightly using a cone or wedge, and use a hose clip to hold it in place with (a lot of my other deflectors use this kind of clip as stock anyway). Vintage hose clamps look best, and they are fairly easy to come by!

Should fit most cars from most years as long as the muffler is the right size, but if you have any concerns please email me and I will try to give you more info. I have tried to show the item from all the important angles, but sometimes I miss the odd one out, so again please get in touch if you feel you'd like some more detail or bigger pictures.

Please note that at the end, between the 'toes' of the paws, the metal is slightly wrinkled. This is NOT A FAULT and affects all of them - it is just the way they are made, and is a consequence of the fact that when you press metal into a curved shape it stretches and there is extra metal to 'lose'. The last photo shows a close-up of the appropriate area, but my iPad cover tends to make a red reflection in the surface, which makes it hard to see (but it is hard to see anyway!).

PLEASE NOTE: like most of my items this is a universal or near-universal item and was intended to fit pretty much any car on the market, within reason. If you do buy it and find that it doesn't work out for you for ANY reason whatsoever, I will happily refund your money in full, net of shipping costs, if you return the item to my US, UK or French shipping address (whichever is cheapest for you). No hassle, no questions asked. If you view my feedback profile you will see that several of my positive feedbacks are from people I have done exactly that for.
