Antique French Cast Iron Waffle Maker Press. Wrought Iron Pancake
Dated middle of 19th century
The Iron Waffle is marked "GODIN & Cie à GUISE AISNE - Bte S.G.D.G. N°15"
It was an important foundry in Lorraine since 1840
This is an old French waffle iron.
Made from cast iron so that it will retain heat and make superb waffles.
This iron will produce big wafers. In very good condition: the inside is relatively clean and the outside too.
It really is great fun making waffles with these old irons but they are great for decorating fireplaces too or hanging on a wall.
These were very expensive items in their day and only a wealthy family could afford one.
They were often given by the family as a wedding present.
