Up for sale today is an exceptionally beautiful, EXTREMELY RARE and HUGE SIZE 6s, Elgin Trench Watch that features a high grade 15 jewel movement which dates back to WWI ! ! ! This absolutely remarkable piece of American craftsmanship is in SUPERB condition and has been meticulously restored ! ! ! I cannot even begin to tell you how truly rare this watch is ! ! ! We have all seen the much bigger and highly collectible bigger size 6s Elgin Trench Watches before but have you ever seen one with the 100% absolutely correct original RED XII enamel military dial ? ? ? This is the ONLY one that I have ever seen! Simply mind blowing ! ! ! I have searched for YEARS trying to find one these with the RED XII military dial. Our Great Grandfather's knew how to make things that would last for generations! The movement was just completely taken apart and serviced on 2-12-2012. It's in superb running condition and keeping excellent time. This watch has been tested on a professional Timegraph Machine for accuracy so rest assured! Take another look at picture number three again, this movement is clean as a whistle! This watch is going NOWHERE but up in value down the road! I'm sure that you have noticed by now that this is NOT your ordinary trench watch case by a long shot ! ! ! It's a GIANT SIZE 6s ! ! ! ! This is a 100% authentic American made genuine trench watch case ! ! We have all seen those horrible Ukraine specials where a pocket watch case has been modified into a wrist watch case. This is NOT one of those ! ! ! It's the real McCoy ! ! ! The "Silverode" three piece trench watch case was manufactured by the Philadelphia Watch Case Company during WWI. It's a high quality case, both the top bezel and case back both snap crisply into place just as they should. The case measures a whopping 42mm lug to lug and 38mm without the ORIGINAL FACTORY CROWN, 16mm lug diameter ! ! ! This watch is a MUST for the serious military watch collection ! ! ! When I first got this watch a few weeks ago it was in serious need of restoration! The case has sense been highly polished on a professional grade machine, it now has a mirror like finish and looks fantastic! ! ! This watch is simply incredible ! ! ! This is BY FAR the RAREST American military dial that I have ever seen, the TRUE size 6s RED XII enamel military dial! The dial features a bright white face, BOLD Roman numerals, an outer chapter of minute markers, original spade hands, sunken sub-second at 6 o'clock, signed ELGIN near the center and the RED XII at the top. PLUS, this dial has the extremely desirable "USA" stamp just below the Elgin signature meaning that it was manufactured for the European market. This dial does NOT have any hairlines, ships or cracks ! ! ! This is an original Elgin ENAMEL dial and NOT some cheap reproduction, it's the real deal ! ! I have fitted this historic American trench watch with a brand new black genuine Buffalo band that absolutely makes the watch! Take a look at picture number two again, this watch just looks stunning on the wrist! The band will fit a wrist up to around eight inches and has a matching stainless steel buckle. The black and white band looks SUPERB with the black, white and red dial ! ! ! It will have a bit of wear on it because I seriously could not resist wearing this one for the day, can you blame me? It's kind of like Ferris Bueller and that Ferrari, if you had access to one would you just leave it in a garage? I think not! Here are the movement details: 1905 Elgin, 15 jewels, size 6s, grade 295, serial number 11522201. This Elgin movement has a VERY beautiful demaskeen design, they just don't make them like this any more! I chose to leave in the original glass crystal, it has one tiny flaw near the 2 but other than that it is great. This watch is ready to be worn and shown off, it will surely get noticed! I put a lot of time and effort into this Elgin, I'm sure that you will appreciate the quality and quantity of work that has been done. If you're looking for a watch that NOBODY else has, this is the one for you ! ! ! Solid old World craftsmanship at it's finest ! ! ! ! ! You could search for YEARS and YEARS and YEARS and not find another genuine size 6s Elgin Trench Watch that has a genuine size 6s RED XII military dial ! ! ! ! Honestly, this watch probably belongs in a museum.
