A set of stainless steel studs designed to replace the standard exhaust bolts. Suits the following Suzuki motorcycles:

GS650   Katana 1981 - 1986

Contains 8 new studs and 8 new nuts as shown in the picture. Years are approximate.

Change of plan? Just return the studs in good condition and I will refund.

This Suzuki was designed with exhaust bolts. The substitution of a stud as a replacement for a bolt has always been common engineering practice, but please read the following ...

GUIDE NOTES for fitting:
Procedure 1
1. Use a smear of copper anti-seize grease all round on all stainless steel threads during assembly.
OR
Procedure 2
2. Degrease and use thread-locking compound on the stud threads that go into the cylinderhead (recommended), and then use a smear of copper anti-seize grease on all other stainless threads. It is particularly important to use thread-locking compound if your cylinderhead threads have become sloppy due to the wear and tear caused by bolts.

Tightening Torques:
The standard Suzuki recommended tightening torque for M8 exhaust bolts/nuts is 23Nm (16.5 Lb/ft) so do not exceed this unless the Suzuki manual for your model states a higher torque.
If the threads in your cylinderhead are in good condition and you choose NOT to use thread locking compound in the cylinderhead, then you should consider torquing the studs into the head to a slightly higher torque than you are going to use for the nuts (for example 28.5 Nm (20.5 Lb/ft) which is 25% higher), so the studs will not come loose later if you undo the nuts.
