ITEM 1000 CONDITION
Item is in very good condition although there is visible wear to the velvet lined interior due to age, handling and usage of the silver and faux tortoiseshell jewellery box.
ITEM 1000 DESCRIPTION
Antique circular shaped silver and faux tortoiseshell jewellery box.
The hinged lid with an inlaid faux tortoiseshell top with a silver pique floral pattern design.
On three legs and the interior is velvet lined.
The item was made in Birmingham for the Mappin shops and was part of a dressing table set. These were used for jewels and referred to as trinket boxes.
