Welcome to the Magical World of Walt Disney!

Delightful and delicate, this Vintage 1950's Disney Motion Light features a moving carousel of favorite Disney characters. Decorated paper insert rotates when the lamp is turned on and the bulb warms up.

Released in 1955 to commemorate the opening of Disneyland. Marked: Manufactured and Distributed by Econolight Corp., lithograghed in U.S.A. Measures approx. 10" x 10". Super cool find!

Condition is fair. The lamp is fully functional, and the cord has been well kept and coiled and is in excellent condition. The light works great and the paper "carousel" turns appropriately as noted above. The original flags that would have decorated the top of the carousel are missing, as is common with this piece. The round paper insert has significant damage as is also common with older paper lantern motion lamps. The bottom edge has numerous small tears and crinkles/wrinkles and has been heavily scotch-taped at some point in the past. This does not affect the functionality in any way. There are many other wrinkles, scratches, tears, image lift, pencil markes, etc on the paper insert images as well. The red top has a long mark that looks like melted plastic, although the top is not warped or otherwise affected in any way. Please see photos for more info as they are part of the overall description.

That said, this Disney motion lamp is COMPLETELY CHARMING and totally SWEET! The motion lamp still looks darn good when displayed, and once the lamp is turned on and rotating, when viewed in a dark room.your eyes will see only the MAGIC of DISNEY. What an amazing object to have survived 61 years!

Disney characters featured on the motion lamp include: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck, Pluto, Pinocchio, and Jiminy Cricket riding the carousel horses, while Lady and the Tramp, Bambi, Thumper, Flower, Alice in Wonderland, Snow White, Goofy, Robin Hood, Brer Rabbit & Brer Bear among others adorn the lamp's metal base.

NOTE: Ships with a 15 watt light bulb which allows the images to slowly rotate. Use a higher (25) watt bulb to cause the images to turn more quickly. A 40 watt bulb might work, but may get too hot and cause the paper to burn or tear, or the red plastic top to melt.
