Well, here is a review of the Carvin PB-200-15. I really like it! As you may have read in on of the previous threads, I had a problem with the PB100-15. The amplifier (not the speaker) fried. I sent it back and upgraded to the PB200-15. It is basically the same except it has a 160 watt amplifier and a 5 band post EQ. Here are the controlson the pre-amp: Buttons Bass boost Midd cut 2 settings Trebble boost Rotary Bass Mid w/ frequency sweep Treble On the post-amp it has the 5 band graphic eq. It has active and passive inputs, a tweeter, and an L-pad (volume control) for the tweeter. It also has an effect loop. I really like the sound it puts out. I like it better than the SWR Workingman 12, Hartke Kickback 12, and the Fender BXR. I would say the Ampeg 12 combo sounds slightly better, but this is louder, and has more features. This of course is subjective. If I were to rank the top three for sound I would say it would be Ampeg, Carvin, and then Hartke. On controls, shaping and options I would say Carvin, Ampeg, Hartke. On power I would say Carvin, Hartke, Ampeg. On Value I would say Carvin, Hartke, Ampeg. I really really like the sound though. I play a jazz bass, so I like to punch up the bass boost, and cut the mid at the higher frequency. This gives a darker deeper tone that is very cool. It is also very good with no bass boost and the mid cut at the lower frequency. It is very quiet. I have a Jazz bass that does pick up noise, but the am is virtually noiseless. It has compression that is somewhat useful to clean up some bad technique, or possibly for slapping. It has a noise gate that is not very useful. If you turn it up above 2.5 it starts cutting out the sustain. It does quiet some noise from my pickups though on about 2. This sucker is loud. I put in my ear plugs and turned it up. It definitely has some punch and depth too! It has a carpet covering and weighs about 50 pounds. The handle is placed in the center, and it can be a pain to lug around, but for 160 watts a 15" speaker and 50 pounds I am not complaining. It is constructed very solidly. The service at Carvin stinks in this situation. I have had very poor luck getting credited for the amp I returned. I called about 6 times. I finally think they are going to get my account credited. I haven't written them off, for the future, but I was disappointed.

I like mine.

I've had one for a little over a year and I love it. I was going to sell it to go to a head/cab setup, but since I've started playing with it at church, I changed my mind. It's perfect for stage monitoring and and any small indoor gigs. It has a line out to run direct, and has a killer tone. It's great for funk, just crank the compressor up and get a clean bite on every attack, but also can get a really warm tone. I'm about to get a Sansamp Driver DI to pair with it and use it for recording with my band. I haven't played the Crates or Ampegs, but I can definitely say this combo is a lot of bang for the buck.

Carvin Pro Pro Bass 200 made in USA

Carvin Pro Bass 150W

A well made amp that feels solid, portable compact yet it has the weight to prove its quality partly due to the Carvin speaker. The Cabinet is well constructed with no short cuts on the build quality and the amp itself is clean and well put together.. Just before listing it i had it serviced, the pots have been cleaned as was the combo's exterior and overall the amp looks in very good condition. There are no surprises or issues - its a really good amp.

Again in short - Carvin PB-200 in good condition.. Excellent compact combo amp with plenty of punch. You Can connect with extension cab for a stereo sound 2x80 and more boom. Built in compression and a gate which is a great feature with Graphic EQ add Pre-Set: Bass - Mid  -Treble. to enhance to sound. Keep in your house or transport with no problem since it's a good size quite compact, but it has to go..
