What’s the difference between the Roland TD30K and TD30KV V-drums?

The main differences between the Roland TD30K and TD30KV are found in the hardware, as they both use the same sound module. Firstly the TD30KV has larger, more sensitive pads and more of them, and it uses a larger stand called the MDS20X. Furthermore, all of the clamps and fittings are made of aluminium and the kit is silver in colour rather than black.

The KV version also uses a different hi hat called the VH13 which provides greater sensitivity and authenticity. The larger pads on this kit also improve the feel and response available from the TD30 Module.

The more compact TD30K is smaller and nearly £2500 cheaper. So why is this? The main reason is that it has smaller drums and not as many of them! It has a smaller bass drum pad, toms and snare as well as using the one piece VH11 Hi Hat pad. This means that while this is still one of the best electronic drum sets in the world and uses the same module as the TD30KV, it has ever so slightly less sensitivity, and you can’t make the most of the capabilities of the module.

We offer a 14 day returns policy if you change your mind about the product, with the shipping cost being covered by the buyer. Any returned items must be in their original packing (if applicable), and in the same condition received.
