In this example, the gold coloured original dial (signed 'Omega'; 'Automatic'; 'Seamaster' and 'Swiss Made') is in very good original condition requiring no restoration work beyond a thorough clean. The dial is mounted with hand rivetted raised gold arrow hour markers with hand rivetted gold Arabic numerals at the quarters, matching gold dauphine hands and a smoothly sweeping gold second hand; all of which are in excellent original condition.
 
The watch measures 34mm in diameter excluding the original Omega signed knurled steel crown.

The 3XX series of mechanical bumper automatic movements is considered by many to be among the most robust and reliable ever made by the Omega Watch Company and this Calibre 354 example is very clean and runs smoothly having been fully stripped down, cleaned, oiled and serviced by a Rolex trained and accredited watchmaker with over 40 years experience and is offered with full year warranty as a result. This excellent half-rotor automatic example of the master watchmaker's craft will give many years of untroubled service. The half-rotor is solid and chunky and gives rise to the "bumper" tag as the bump of the rotor can often be felt on the wrist as the rotor winds the movement through the movement of the wearer. It is a reassuring experience.

The movement is signed 'Omega Watch Co. Swiss'; '17 jewels unadjusted'; and logo'd '354' as you would expect. The serial number 14,xxx,xxx dates this watch to 1954.

The stainless steel case is in good order with some visible signs of wear. The screw caseback is in plain polished steel and would be ideal for an engraving to commemorate a special occasion. The year of manufacture pre-dates the Hippocampus logo which did not appear until later in the range.

The inside of the caseback is signed 'Omega Watch Company'; 'Fab Suisse' and '2635-9SC' which, together with the 14,xxx,xxx movement serial number, dates this watch accurately to 1954. the 'SC' stands for 'secondes centrales'. The movement adjusts perfectly from the signed original Omega knurled stainless steel crown which also operates smoothly.

This lovely old timepiece is supplied with a brand new high quality black padded genuine leather Omega strap with gold plated stainless steel Omega buckle which sets off the features beautifully and look stunning on the wrist.
