Egyptian Cartonnage fragment of Duamutef.
A small fragment of Egyptian cartonnage (linen and gesso) painted with umber and black pigments with a depiction of the jackal-headed god Duamutef, one of the four sons of Horus, holding a long folded cloth. Fair condition.
From an old collection of cartonnage fragments retrieved from a damaged section of an Egyptian sarcophagus.  
Height of cartonnage 7.3 cms (2.9 ins). Supplied in a display frame.
Ptolemaic period Egypt: Circa 2nd-1st century BC.
