A stunning pair of Moqui Marbles from the USA.
These iron oxide concretions, aka ‘Moki or Mochi Balls’, ‘Shaman Stones’ or ‘Thunderballs’, were used by Native American tribes in the West as power stones for shamanic journeys, visioning and astral travel.
The outer shell contains Hematite, Goethite and Limonite in varying proportions and is filled with Navajo Sandstone from the Glen Canyon Group. They were named after the Moqui Canyon, Southern Utah. There was also an Indian Moqui tribe that lived in the Painted Desert, Arizona.
Moqui Lore: Moqui stones can be used to realign the energy centres of the body and relieve energy blockages. Place one at the top and one at the bottom of the spine while lying down. You can also hold them in both hands to balance your energies. The stones are said to stimulate "Chi" energy and act as connectors to Earth energies. They can lessen unwanted psychic influences and are associated with the Third Eye Chakra, the psychic vision centre.
These intriguing beauties were formed about 130 to 155 million years ago and most of them come from Utah.
Moqui marbles do NOT need cleaning, if immersed in water they will rust and dissolve!
