The Active mode employs the well tested 1953 Mullard transistor circuitry which make the unit sound like a Valve PreAmp. Huge Bass and Treble sweeps.

When Powered the VU Meters will monitor the true input device output whatever input is selected

11/10. I love it. The Clinical sound of the excellent Monacor I used to use for RIAA has gone.
For a £20 phono its a bargain. I used an IFI for a year. The Monacor was superior.
The 'Baldwin ' is a whole new experience!

This has again, to be the bargain of the century.
The sound that my Troughline produces through this preamp in active mode is of a quality never heard before, at least in my system.
The Phono is superb. again, in a class of its own. It is musical, natural.
My ears had to adapt to its musical ways , as the effect of putting this pre in my system was not subtle.
No one produces anything like this
