Straight from our brass (and silver) instrument repair shop, our USED horns are brought back to life...All major dents are removed, joints re-soldered (if needed), patches repaired (if necessary) and the slides reworked.  Our horns may be buffed, but all are hand polished to a good shine and are in good playable condition.  For the collector who is looking for an instrument; we try to keep the original parts whenever possible; if the playability is good, we feel it should be left to the buyer's discretion to replace parts as desired.  We are proud to offer this refurbished instrument for sale. We have tried to describe it as it is, and are happy to answer any questions asked.  #84/2016

Up for sale is a 1968 FE Olds & Son 'Opera' Tenor Trombone with F Key manufactured in Fullerton, CA and was possibly a 'customized' horn. Serial #677xxx.  It has similar slide bore .554/.554 of the Opera Symphony O25, and with a 8 1/2" diameter bell flare, but has a gold brass bell, unlike the Symphony which has a red brass bell. This horn has approx 80% of the original lacquer finish.  There are very minor dings and some normal scratching; normal pitting at the grips. The slide action is very good and the slide stockings' wear is very minimal; with good compression. This horn has a very bright, powerful tone, with a big full sound...that can take a lot of air!  The custom features provide a smoother sound than usual nickel-bell Opera instruments. The Olds Opera was the top of the line symphonic trombone; the response across the entire range and dynamics is quick and wonderful. This particular Opera is a beautiful big bore horn, different with the gold brass bell.  It comes with an Olds 20 mouthpiece and is shipped in the original case. Thanks for looking and check out our other items!
