SINGER Sewing Machine Cabinet #56

This listing is for a SINGER Sewing Machine Cabinet #56 in Walnut, as can be seen in the photos. It measures 24" X17 1/2" closed and about 47" open and stands 31" tall when closed. This model has a center drawer. This listing is just for the cabinet but it originally came with a 66 in it.
From a vintage Singer Catalog: "The No. 56 Cabinet, a lighter, more moderately priced cabinet of conservative design that is ideal for many homes and apartments. This popular model is richly furnished in walnut of selected grain. The center drawer provides ample space for attachments and sewing supplies."
The opening for the machine measures 16 5/8'' X 7 1/8'' deep and will fit a standard machine ... 401, 404, 500A or a 15-91, 201-2, etc with the addition of a spacer bar (not included, but see below). The measurement between the hinge pins is about 9 5/8" between centers. It include the inside support for the foot pedal and knee bar which can be removed if you don't plan to use it.
This cabinet has its original finish; it has some light scratches, spots on top (3rd photo) from 50+ years of human interaction, but is a nice cabinet. When you open it up, to the left of the machine opening near the front hinge you can see damage to the finish but the veneer is good (see photos 5 & 6). There is a little chipping of the veneer on the bottom edge of the two sides (photos 9 & 10). This cabinet would clean up nicely ... you could refinish but it is perfectly good for using as is.
The top support for the left hand side pops out and supports the top.
If you need the black spacer bar to install a 66, 15-91, 201-2, etc. I will sell one for an additional $15.00 -- Just select the higher UPS shipping of 64.99 and I will include it.

Legs of cabinet will be removed and labeled for easy re-assembly, with just a couple of screws.
