I woke up from a nap wanting to make a washtub bass, 
but I wanted to be able to fret it. This is what I came up with.


   JOY-STICK-BASS

I have just started selling 2-string on Ebay. I have made costume 2 and 3 string in the past.
The first two yearst I only made 1-strings but seems to be a calling for 2-strings. Played as an upright bass. 
They have a 2' removable extension - the 1-string does not have. 

 • Redwood (Heartwood)

 • Wood stained, then clear coated 3 times

 • Finger board Green

 • 34" scale, same as full-size bass guitar

 • 48" overall length

 • 72" (6') with 24" extension (extension is included)

 • Two strings (.100 "E" and .080 "A") USA strings.

 • Pickup is homemade single coil, running around .40 kohm

 • Shielded wiring

 • All wiring hidden inside

 • 1/4" guitar jack, mono output plug. (Mounted in back for left or right handed)

 • Wood bridge for great tone

 • Fretless neck

 • Very light at about 2 lb.

 • All hand made, including pickup

 • Shipping box doubles as a Guitar Case

 • Every Bass has a unique serial number stamped in wood and on it's Logo

 No two are exactly alike. Presenting #144 here. This one has coins with Buffalo, 
1 Buffalo on left & 2 Buffalo on right coin. 
Made in Feb, 2017. (I have made well over 100 1,2,3-strings.)

You too Steve!  Really though, the sound is blowing me away! and I actually really like the feel of the
instrument played upright.  With the detachable leg, I can rotate the body easily when I'm playing!

Dear 4stevejoy,
Hey Steve. Thank you, I received the bass. After a few minor modifications
this thing will sound just like an upright. I'll send pics so you can see what I've done.
I have cherry wood handy so I'll be using that to make a nut, bridge, and tailpiece.
That and a change of strings should bring the sound of this to almost identical to my upright.
Also a thin layer of felt under the piezo for keeping it from picking up noise from the body.
Thanks again. This will be much easier to transport than the upright.

Hello Steve!
Loving the bass. I added strap nuts so I can hold it like and electric and
will soon add a Fishman pre-amp for some more tone control. I haven't yet had
the time to make a vid but will soon for sure.
