This sale is for a vintage hardback FIRST EDITION entitled “Genghis Khan,” by Ralph Fox, with 8 illustrations, including a frontispiece, and 2 maps, including a large fold-out map of Europe and Asia in about 1210 before the Mongol Conquest.
It was published by John Lane, of The Bodley Head, London, and is the 1936 FIRST EDITION (stated).
Ghengis Khan (c.1162-1227) was a Mongol political and military leader who united the Mongol tribes and founded the Mongol Empire (1206-1368), the largest continuous empire in world history. He forged a powerful army based on merit to become one of the most significant and successful military leaders ever.
The book measures 8.75 inches x 6 inches x 1.4 inches and has 269 pages + illustrations.
The book is in good used condition for its age, with heavy wear/bumps around the ends of the spine and corners, and is grubby/faded to the original cloth hardback cover, with a removed sticker and a previous owner’s signature at the front, scattered light foxing and no other ink or pencil markings in the book. The binding is good with no loose or missing pages. There is no dust-jacket.
