1960s Blue Jasperware with White Relief

Dancing Hours Pot & Lid
 

A Wedgwood matte finished blue Jasperware jar with an ornate lid. Decorated with the classically inspired 18th Century, Dancing Hours, the best-known of all the Wedgwood bas reliefs, attributed to John Flaxman Jr. (1755–1826). The stunning white bas-relief design features elegantly draped, dancing, neoclassical Greek goddesses of the seasons, who presided over the revolutions of the heavenly constellations by which the year was measured.

Height to Finial: 4 1/4" (11 cm) 
Height of Jar: 3" (7.5 cm) 
Diameter: 3" (7.5 cm) 



Good condition. 
Small chip to pot rim & lid rim, not visible when lid is on.
