1950-51 Lionel Freight Train Set No. 1471WS - VG/EX

Note: This train set is illustrated on pages 14-15 in the Lionel 1950 and 1951 consumer catalogs.  To complete this set, you will need the 3469 operating coal dump car and the 6465 Sunoco tank car - See Last Photo.

-- 2035 2-6-4 Die-cast steam engine - VG+.  Serviced.  Tested.  Runs well F-N-R (3 position e-unit).  Powerful motor.  MAGNE-TRACTION for greater pulling power and traction on curves.  Headlight.  Synchronized smoke.  Eccentric drive rods; valve gear assemblies.  Handrails.  Ornamental bell.   Custom boiler front - Two translucent green running lights instead of marker ears with green jewels.   (No more worry about breaking off markers).    Easy access to headlight bulb.  Boiler has been repainted.  Very reliable and durable locomotive.  They don't make them like this anymore.  (1950-51).

-- 6466W Lionel Lines tender - VG/EX.  Good lettering.  Good whistle.  Whistles on the fly.  New wiring.

-- X3464 NYC operating box car with sliding doors - VG/EX.  Tested.  Working properly.  Door opens and man appears as if to exit or unload something.  (Requires RC track and controller to operate - not included)  Brake wheel.  (1949-52).  Note: This is a substitute for the 6454 non-operating box car. 

-- 3461X Green RC die-cast operating log dump car with 5 logs - VG+.  Dumps logs in to bin (not included) at track side.   (Requires RC track and controller to operate - not included.)  Brake wheel.   (1949-55).  [Green frame rarity = 4].

-- 6357 Lionel SP-type red caboose - VG/EX.  Illuminated.  Clear plastic windows.  Metal endrails and brake wheel.  (1948-61).

-- 1951 "Instructions" booklet - 65 pages - VG.  Lots of illustrations.  Perfect manual for this set.

There is no track and no transformer.
