Panerai was founded in 1860 in
Florence by Giovanni Panerai and is now considered the most famous
Italian watch company. Panerai started his business by producing
measurement and precision systems for the Italian Navy, which gradually
led to an affinity for watchmaking and other precision instruments. In
1930, Panerai watches were well known in the Italian military and the
company had an exclusive contract with the Navy to produce their watches
and aiming sites for various types of weaponry. The ruggedness and
durability of the Panerai watches is still symbolic today, and the
company only started producing wristwatches for the general public in
1993. Currently Panerai produces a very limited number of pieces and
therefore keeps demand high. Each piece is numbered on the back out of
how many were produced that year. Limited edition collections and the
company’s impressive history are some of the strongest arguments for
purchasing a Panerai watch. Although the military history suggests power
and precision, Panerai watches are finely tuned mechanisms encased in
elegant and stylish cases.
The featured watch describe is an Panerai FER00012 Granturismo 8 Days GMT in polished Stainless Steel case measuring 45mm diameter. Fixed Stainless Steel. Manual wound movement, power reserve to 192 hours / 8 days. Displays a Black hobnail-patterned grid with Ferrari Logo and Prancing Horse dial with White Arabic numerals on a fixed, 60-minute scale on the flange, Luminous baton hour and minute hands and dial markers, second time zone indicated by the red arrowhead centre hand... Black Sub-dials: Small second and 24 hour day/night red indicator
at 9 with applied cone-section rings in steel, circular Power reserve,
with a red rotating disc, indicator at 6 o'clock and magnified calendar
date indicator at 3 o'clock. Stainless steel pull out Hobnailed
winding crown with the Ferrari logo, Slightly Cambered (domed)
Sapphire Crystal with anti-reflective coating, Anti Reflective
Crystal exhibition caseback, decorated with metallic grid. Attached is a Brown
leather Strap with Panerai Tang Buckle and comes with an additional
Black Rubber strap. Water resistant to 100 meters / 330 feet. Display -
Ferrari Shield at 12 o'clock position, Caseback - round the edge is
engraved the inscription "Engineered by OFFICINE PANERAI" &
numbered, Movement signed.... Production of 500 pieces.

Granturismo 8 Days GMT. It just doesn't get much better than a
collaboration between these two incredible companies... Panerai and
Ferrari are each a hallmark of exceptional quality and they are both at
the top of their respective fields. The watches they have produced
together reflect the best of everything each company represents. The
design, workmanship, durability and functionality are second to none.
This piece is stunning with the color choices and dial design. I just
love these watches. I am a huge Panerai fan as well as a Ferrari lover,
so how much better can this collaboration be! You can never go wrong
with a Panerai/ Ferrari Sport Watch. a fantastic series, a great watch!!!

metal-finished lever hand-wound mechanical calibre movement, consists
of 247 components, it has 21 jewels and a thickness of 6.6
millimetres. A power reserve of 8 days, three spring barrels,
free-sprung balance, balance wheel oscillating at 28,800 alternations
per hour (a frequency which is unusual in a movement with a large
power reserve). Panerai calibre P. 2002, movement is completely
designed, developed and manufactured in house by Panerai ..
