This is the upper pair only - the ones that often break when the original plastic becomes too brittle. Your replacement hinges are made from an incredibly versatile 21st century plastic - strong yet it has the necessary flexibility to snap in for an exacting fit.
Over the past 7 years, we have sold hundreds of these to - and installed by - Thorens owners. It's literally a perfect fit. Examine the photos closely to see the exquisite detail (of the hinge, not the hand). The hinge is slightly textured, which we think is an improvement to the older plastic, and it has a great looking deep black color. Your set-up will look sharp.
Your original hinge has a subtle design flaw and over the years the external forces on the hinge weakened it little by little until the hinge fractured from stress. This one will not break thanks to modern materials. The design has been expertly re-engineered to add imperceptible strength to the usual point of failure, yet it has the necessary flexibility and is an exact fit.
